Well, it is time. Two weeks of coding has led to this. The dream. Over 500-600 lines of code (probably more lol, didn't keep track) Here's it is! The Luxor Path Creator, N.O.D.E Beta v1.0, is now finally released! Here's the complete Feature List: Features as of N.O.D.E v1.0: - Import Background Image Support! (freak yes) :excited: - X and Y axis coordinate tracker that auto-tracks mouse coords, 30fps refresh rate. - Automatic one-click mapping of vertices points by clicking left mouse key. - Output a complete, ready to use path.obj file. - A complete workstation for mapping coordinates, with UI and additional 30px around 800x600 main workarea for offscreen nodes. - Vertice list/error message logger. (aka Cowlppy) - Delete vertices by hitting DELETE key. - Sound Test/Jukebox mode. - Pause function by hitting P Key. - mouse_y below -500px warning. - Import external and saved path.obj files. (in beta, only works for certain paths) - SPACE key switches between Trace mode (where you map a path) and Edit mode (where it doesn't map) - to be used more in later versions. - New logo/banner, plus working main menu/button/program functionality - 11 pages of built-in instructions, as well as updated Readme, license, changelog, and help files. - Windows/Mac OS compatibility, with an .exe, and .html, and .swf file for fallback compatibility. - Pikku-Orava. Few tips you should know before you download N.O.D.E (I better not get bombarded with these questions later down the thread lol): Minimum Requirements: Operating System: For Microsoft® - Windows® 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8.x and 10; For Macintosh - Mac OS X v10.3 and above. Disk space: 25MB available disk space. Screen Resolution: 1366x768 display. CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor. Memory: 512MB RAM, 128MB graphics memory. Which file to use: For Windows users, use the .exe file. For Mac users, open the .swf file with Google Chrome/Firefox. If it doesn't fit your screen resolution, use the .html file. I recommend reading all the files I written before you open N.O.D.E: I updated the readme, help, license and changelog text. Chances are I've already answered your question. Alright, enough techno-babble talk. N.O.D.E Beta v1.0 Release Download Link: drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B5ewDpUlLVVNME94VzJ6ZVpYd2cRekt the time used to make paths. Rekt it hard. Make mods fast again! Don't forget to leave a review! Or tell me if you want something for a future edition. (or ask for help, but seriously I think the FAQs I've written already covers 95% of the issues) And for future plans? Well, this isn't the end for N.O.D.E, no good sir/ma'am! I already have a minor update, N.O.D.E Beta v1.1 planned for a late-August release. These are mainly features suggested by the beta test crew that couldn't make v1.0 because of the tight schedule I imposed on myself. I will be coding much slower now due to real life, but I'll still here.

I have a problem. I made my own background, I saved it into the N.O.D.E's folder, but N.O.D.E cannot import it. I linked the image, but I'm 100% sure that it's .jpeg AND has 800x600 resolution. So here's the image: Please reply as soon as possible, because I want to make Luxor paths RIGHT NOW!!! EDIT: The .html just opened it. The .exe cannot open it, but the .html can?! What the hell's going on?! So this problem is ONLY with the .exe file I think. I didn't tried .swf, though.

Well, one put down in the changelog that one of the bugs is that you can't replace the image when N.O.D.E is running, you have to close it, so I think if you restart the .exe file it show work again. I dunno tbh, because no one's but me tested this before, but it works a-OK when I replaced it in this video. Maybe see it to see if you did the same thing?

From the changelog: - N.O.D.E keeps saying 0% when I click "Import background.jpg"!
Make sure there is a background.jpg to import in the same directory as the
N.O.D.E folder.insert code here This only happens, from my experience, if it cannot detect "background.jpg" in the folder. (the swf coughs an error). And the thing is it works perfectly fine when I tested it on my .exe file (I used the same version sent out to everyone...) I dunno. It's something weird...if anything the .html file shouldn't import it if the .exe file fails because they are all the same. Maybe if someone else figures it out I'm kinda stuck lol.

Avast Antivirus doesn't let me use N.O.D.E. Apparently anything that comes from this site, or at least Dropbox contains something that my Antiviruses detect that prevents me from being able to use the program. Unfortunately, my "Secret Project" is a Luxor mod, meaning it may have to be delayed until a solution to this problem can be found. Huh, Avast huh? Well, uh, lol. There's no way an antivirus can just block everything from the net. Is there like an Exception folder or something?

If I right-click, I have the option to open with WinRAR without any problems.

One day in and the whole forum is enjoying N.O.D.E huh? But wait! There's more! First off, the secret reason N.O.D.E was created. Actually, that's massive :kappa: , it really was unintentional. Real update time, N.O.D.E is not dead, it's still in beta, and hence I have v1.1 in the works! Here's a teaser! Wonder all those buttons do? I'm sure you can guess lol. v1.1 contains many implemented suggestions from the beta test crew (ah the benefits) that couldn't make the v1.0 release (look y'all were rushing me), and I think it'll make your lives even easier. (if that's possible) Expect it anytime in the next 2 weeks.

As promised, N.O.D.E Beta v1.1 is released today! What's new in v1.1? - Full Edit/Trace Mode functionality. - Manual Vertice Input. - Mirror Path Coordinates on x and y axis - Reverse Path Vertices. - Delete All Vertices function. - Options menu, including volume and quality options, saved to a cookie to remember user config. - many bugfixes and minor stuff. Here's a quick 3 minute video detailing everything changed in the new version. And heres the N.O.D.E Beta v1.1 Release download link (30MB): drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B5ewDpUlLVVNSFN3cnpucFc4bGcWhat's next? I hope to move N.O.D.E out of beta state. As you see, right now it still isn't perfect in my eyes, a lot can be improved. So, I intend to work hard to release a stable release with more features, but this won't come out anytime soon. Look forward to N.O.D.E Stable Release v1.2! I plan for this to be released around mid-September.
Things will be probably slow down here since I won't release a new version for a while, but do give your feedback on what you think about v1.1 and any improvements, it's appreciated (even constructive criticism) and your suggestions could be implemented in v1.2!

For me, the background problem is STILL here in the .exe file. The .html just works fine. What?! And this was with the included background! But I didn't restarted N.O.D.E before I imported the image into the editor. After that, I've tried it like ten times, but it will NEVER work again. Maybe I will have to reinstall N.O.D.E.

That was a great update konis! I did do reversing on other luxor paths from the original game by importing a path such as: Nephty's Garden. For Example: If you use a horizontal mirror or vertical mirror on a path and then generate it, you'll get this: They're in the wrong vertice order right? If you copy the path.obj before doing this, put them in the right order like this: 70 75 73 72 69 68 67 66 65 71 64 55 62 56 57 58 59 60 63 61 52 54 51 50 49 48 47 53 46 37 44 38 39 40 41 42 45 43 28 35 29 30 31 32 33 36 34 25 27 24 23 22 21 20 26 19 10 17 11 12 13 14 15 18 16 7 9 6 5 4 3 2 8 74 1 and BAM! There you go! I hope you all get it. Also you can do a 2-2 mirrored level like this: Thank you for reading everyone! And you too konisbored for the update.

There you go! I hope you all get it. Also you can do a 2-2 mirrored level like this: Thank you for reading everyone! And you too konisbored for the update. Ah, I know exactly what you are talking about. I'm surprised no one mentioned this yet, but the issue you are referring to IS in fact, in the instructions itself. Currently N.O.D.E only supports importing paths with a linearly descending face list. Those are face path lists which descend in order. (eg. f 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1) This means N.O.D.E can only import: - N.O.D.E path.obj files. - Luxor mods whom path.obj files have linearly descending face lists. Note: Almost all of the official Luxor path.obj files do not have a linear face path list, so they are unable to be imported correctly. There will hopefully be support for importing all path.obj files for editing in the future. Basically, right now the path importer will only import the vertice list in order (it assumes line 1 = vertice 1, and so on), it does not take into consideration the face list. This, of course causes trouble to any level which has some weird string for the path list. It's why the importer is still in beta. I did not think the retaining the path list would make it work properly, but it DOES make sense. According to Bobik, the original "reverse a path" way was: 1) Reverse the entire vertice list, face list unchanged. 2) Reverse the face list, vertice list unchanged. Normally, we reversed face lists because it was easier. What N.O.D.E does, however, is reverse/change the vertice list INSTEAD, so it makes sense that retaining the original path list would make the new path work. Now you may ask, why don't I have N.O.D.E just output the original face list? Ah, that's where trouble starts. You see, once imported, you can actually edit the path, like add new vertices or delete and change them, which will muck up any non-linear face list, so I need to actually find a way to auto-sort the vertice list by face list order before I can declare the import path functions ready to go and out of beta. (THIS one will be hard to code lol) Hopefully this will be possible in a future update, but right now, the workaround by Maxalien12 works AS LONG as all you're doing is mirroring/reversing the path, and not adding/removing vertices.
