You can also view the leaderboard on the homepage located below the tree. Special thanks to all those who submitted, means a lot! As clarification, the leaderboard will be put up by the end of August. Every time the leaderboard is released, the three submission counter will be reset. In a nutshell, you can submit a maximum of three videos per month, all of which are seperated by more than three days. By the end of every month, the leaderboard will be updated and your submission limit counter will reset. Example: "For September, you make a video on the 1st, 4th and 10th for Luxor Amun Rising. You've just used up all your submission places for Luxor AR for the entire September. Your video from only the 10th will be judged. October rolls around, and the leaderboard for September comes out. You can now submit three videos again during October. And thus the cycle continues." Please remember that only your latest video of the month will be counted. So that means if your second video has a higher score than the third, the third video score will be counted. Also remember that you don't have to submit three videos per month. You can submit just one or two. You are free to ask questions, and I'll make sure to respond to them. I will also put up a survey later today to see if we can cram in any more subcategories. Thanks!

The one video per category is pretty dumb from a speedrunning viewpoint. People improve on their runs all the time. A person might make a good run and they think they won’t make a better one so they submit it. RNGesus blesses them and they get an even better one, but now they’re stuck with the worse one because of this one rule. How could they know that this would happen before?
Okay, I can tell that this is supposed to make you get the highest score that you can achieve, but with such RNG-based games as marble poppers you never know the limit.
Edit: oof. the end is in 2019 but playing the same game for 4 months just to get the best score will get tiring.

Members are able to create more than one video based on the category they're willing to participate in, though they can only submit one. To put this into perspective, if you submit an art piece into an art contest, and then you want to change your submission because you've improved since then, I highly doubt it would be allowed. Another issue with this suggestion is members clogging up the thread with their videos every time they get a new high score, from a contestants perspective, this is basically causing all attention to be placed to the member asking him which submission he/she wants to be looked at. Not to mention, there are currently three categories and two subcategories that require judging. Though I will give this rule a second thought, and update everyone on the situation

If I'm doing a another good run after the first try can I change the video to the better run ? Videos will be on public or unlisted ? Thumbnails authorised ? If a member is seeing that another one is cheating , the member can report him ? Luxor AR HD count ? I hope members will not be influenced or disadvantaged by they're acting on discord like "the one who post c&&&rous thing so let's disadvantage him" any kind of favouritism is prohibited ? being helped by other is prohibited ? I think that all for now . thanks.

Two Questions: 1. Can I speedrun more than one game and then send more than "one game of footage"? 2. Why is prohibited in this event to upload more than one video? What if I get a better time? Maybe it should be clear said "one video at a time: meaning, that you can change link to make a video with better time and better gameplay appeard instead of 1st try mediocre run"? It's just bugs me out why only 1st video would count (as stated for now at least).

Let's clarify, you are given **1** chance to redo, but you have 1 hour. Once you send in your redo, that one will replace the current video you have. Also, anyone caught cheating will not also be DQ'd, but permanently banned from all tournaments. So think twice.
Here's another set of rules I will add:
False cheating reports, calling "favoritism" where there is none, insulting other members, etc will penalize you by forcing you down one position. This will stack.
No using emulators to submit footage.
If you won and had the extreme rank, you MUST give it away to another person.
Choppy video/potato recordings will not be accepted.
And use common sense.

Can I Try Much As I Want Or Im Limited To Like (for example 7) attempts? 1. For Sparkle, you should avoid using amulets as it gives a disadvantage to people who just started the game. 2. No, unfortunately following the "raw footage rule" any edits made to the video, cuts during gameplay etc. might be considered cheating. 3. The category points will be added up. Say you've reached the fastest time, and the second highest score. Following the points system, you will be given the "fastest time points + second highest score points" as your final result. 4. You are allowed to try as many times as you'd like before submitting a video. Do note, however, that you have an hour to change your video after you've already submitted it.

Quick question: If I already have the Extreme rank, can I give the other unused extreme rank or let it poof? As Skylar stated above, you must either take or give the rank. Considering that you are already have the Extreme rank, the noble thing would be to give away the rank to someone else, presumably the second place winner.

I think that all for now . thanks. 1. You can only do 1 video per game, though you can change your submission within an hour of posting it. 2. In the thread, it is clearly stated as "Zuma Deluxe". All other games in the franchise will not count. 3. You should consider playing on Expert mode considering that it gives you a higher score. But no, difficulties do not affect tournament points. 4. If you already have the Extreme rank, the noble thing would be to give it to another person, presumably the second place winner. 5. As my reply above states, other sequels to the game don't count. 6. Four months was picked as the best option to let members properly prepare and pick the video they want to submit. As a bonus, new members can also participate. Two months, for instance, will be too short for someone to record videos, pick the best video, etc. Not to mention, school is in session during these months 7. I'm going to combine some of the following questions into one answer about judges and members. What you just did there, was borderline accusing the staff of bias, which is against the rules. Secondly, no, the competition scores will deem the winner. 8. You are more than welcome to upload more than one video to Youtube with the title "SM Challenger". A submission will only be considered valid if it's posted to this thread. Thumbnails are allowed. The videos must be public. 9. Cheaters will be found and prosecuted by staff. Unless a cheater tells you that he/she is cheating, don't report it to the staff. If you do wish to report it, you must provide a screenshot. 10. Unlike Sparkle 2 and Zuma's Revenge, Luxor AR HD is allowed, but the points granted will be counted alongside Luxor AR (the original). Also the fact that the only mobile version of Luxor AR is HD. 11. Obviously, all members must earn their score on their own.

You can submit three videos, all in the three different categories. 2. You can upload all your attempts to Youtube but you can only make one video (per category) the submission aka by posting it to this thread. Even then, you can change your mind within an hour and submit a different video.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT: After careful consideration, we've decided to move the submission limit to three videos per category. You can submit one, or two, or at maximum three videos. In all of these scenarios, the most recent video will be taken into judging.
Concerning the tournament length, we've moved the deadline to December 1st 2018. Take your time with submitting videos, as more than three videos will result in only the third being counted. Please also note that we have a timeout period after submitting a video. The timeout period lasts three days. During these three days, any submissions made will not be counted. (In order to prevent spam and such, you can only submit one video every three days, with the maximum of three videos in total during the whole tournament.)
All three videos must be posted to Youtube, public and have SM Challenger in their title.

I have one question: Can I record in Fullscreen mode? The reason I ask this is because if I record in Fullscreen, the video gets somewhat choppy. But I absolutely suck at playing in Windowed mode, so that way I couldn't compete properly. And obviously I WANT to compete so it would be great if I could record in Fullscreen and get it accepted.
I'm waiting for the response! Thanks!
