Hello everyone,
due to the recent incidents that occurred on our Discord server, it was deemed necessary to write this thread about them. The incidents basically included certain members either leaving the server completely due to excessive bullying by other members, getting angry due to name changes without the member's permission, overall dislike of the atmosphere of the server etc. (the members shall not be named)
The main problem that is present here is the thought that staff members don't take any action when bullying occurs, which is simply not true. While the staff members may come across as rude, unhelpful, it is all due to the reason that we're planning new additions to the community, the forum flag, forum ranks, new channel ideas, to name a few.
Please do note that even staff members are human, and humans make great mistakes, therefore staff abuse is a possibility nonetheless. If you catch any beholder, overseer breaking the rules, and going out the boundaries of a practical joke, please do report it to other moderators and or administrator. The staff member will be prosecuted and their rank will be rightfully removed. If, however, the evidence you provided against the accused staff member is forged/false, punishment will be bestowed.
Another issue that has recently occurred is that there have been rumors and speculations that there's a group being organised in order to raid the forums and tarnish the reputation of Sphere Matchers itself.
This issue is deemed as a staff only issue, therefore, members are suggested not to interfere during this time, unless advised to.
Recently, it has come to our attention that 2 of our members have been kicked out the Facebook chat for no apparent reason by an unfitted moderator. Please do note that this moderator, which I will not name, wasn't chosen
by the staff, therefore any accusations of staff ignorance is biased. One more thing worth noting is that said moderator was a victim of the name changing incident, and that said moderator is heavily monitored, therefore witchhunting will result in the member starting it getting banned.
What can you do to avoid this current atmosphere?
We'd recommend that you do not panic, nor that you leave any social media groups. The best thing you can do is:
● Report members who have broken the rules. The report sheet can be found on the Discord server at channel #reporting-members
● Avoiding raids and witchhunting
● Letting the staff do their work - you can do so by not asking too many questions, trying to suggest ideas deemed useless etc.
● Ignoring arguments, rude members - just report them
● Informing a staff member if you feel uncomfortable due to the current situation, which will put you under staff care
● Reading through the rules once more
● Not attacking any member, whether it be due to bad modding, bad grammar etc.
● Cooperating with the staff
● Do not leave the server no matter what, you will most likely not be added back!
Thank you for reading this post, and please do obey every suggestion provided!
Cheers, Caff
