Recently, some members were complaining over the lack of moderation by the staff team in certain situations. It's important to note that even though it appears to be a simple situation, the staff team must firstly ask themselves these simple questions: who? what did they do? when did it happen? etc. In some cases, it comes to a moral dilemma where we don't even know what to do. To exterminate these situations of moral constraints and such, it is for the best to implement a system that must be obeyed at all times by the staff team.
Staff can intervene and must punish members:
- After a member ironically and unironically does something that violates the rules. (e.g. spamming for laughs, are rude)
- After a member is rude to another member.
- After a member is rude to one of the staff.
- After a member posts/talks about NSFW content, the following but not limited to: fetishes, any sexually explicit actions, sexual topics in general.
- After a member impersonates staff. (e.g. talking purposefully like them, changing their usernames/profile pictures to theirs, mini-moderating).
- After a member mini-moderates. (when a member attempts to act a higher position than the one they actually have)
- After a member annoys staff purposefully. (if a staff member is obviously angry, do not agitate them)
- After a member does not cooperate with staff orders (no matter if the staff member is abusing his/her power)
- After speaking to a banned member and serving as a 'spy'.
Staff members cannot intervene and must not punish members:
- Due to personal reasons and or personal opinions/views.
- Due to their current emotions (e.g. a staff member cannot ban someone just because they are angry, that's called staff abuse)
- Due to the member not being aware of the rules after just joining the community.
- Due to personal motives.
In defense of a member, a staff member will be demoted when:
- They violate any rule.
- They punish a member without a valid reason. (see above)
- They lash out at members.
- They change something on the server without the consent of both of the admins.
- They let their emotions control their actions
- They ban someone for not agreeing with them.
- They leave the Discord server.
- They spread confidential staff information.
- They spread misinformation.
- They host 'official' events without the consent of both of the admins.
- They favoritise members and let them do what they wish without punishment.
- They promote members to higher ranks without the consent of both of the admins.
- They are inactive for more than a month without a permit granted by one of the admins.
Members should not feel pressured to do anything other than to obey all rules. If they feel oppressed or that injustice has been done upon them, I am open up for discussion and will hear every last bit of any complaints. I'd like to note that I'll leave this thread unlocked to continue the discussion, first time really. If you have any further suggestions about the topic, you may voice them in your replies.
