Luxor 2 fans never really got the credit they deserved nor any mods for that matter. Until now!
Not long ago we've been introduced to Luxor 2 modding. But we never really thought of creating a high-quality mod with it. All most members did was mess around with the commands and hope the game doesn't crash. But one member decided to take as much knowledge with him and create something great.
One of our moderators and well known user Sheepocalypse has recently started developing his 6th mod, and the third installment in his most notable "Dom series".
Unlike the previous two, this one is set on using the Luxor 2 engine, which has many, many possibilities and features just waiting to be explored!
What's so fascinating about this mod in particular is the fact that, as Dom himself has previously stated: "No clue how long it'll take to finish this mod as I'm still learning things about the game as I mod it
". The mod is already looking brilliant, and is finally a breather for Luxor 2 fans.
Notorious for his high-difficulty mods, Dom has stated in his thread that: "Aside from the story, the mod presents you with 40 custom maps. At the same time, I'm planning on overhauling some of my designs and touching the maps up to make them look their finest they can be.
" Paying close attention to detail is one of Dom's most notable attributes, and it's safe to say he isn't leaving it behind any time soon!
The mod comes with many features, previously unheard of in Luxor AR modding:
> Levels with warps
> Z axis meddling meaning the spheres can change size to create the illusion of the spheres being closer or further away from you
> 3-3 Levels. There will only be two 3-3 maps.
> 8 and 9 colour levels
> Levels with Spawn Count of 1, meaning no spheres will be prematched during these levels
> Animated Levels ranging from Myth Match Props, to water waves to clouds, dust and mist travelling across the level and more
> 16 stages, yes you heard right, there will be 16 stages at the cost of the Epic Win and Epic Fail counter being glitched on stages 15 and 16, but I'm not letting that stop me so be aware of it when playing adventure mode
> New (Kinda) Gamemodes. Powerless and ?? (It's a surprise gamemode that I'm not revealing until release :s)
> Levels with 0 Powerups, yes you heard right, 0 powerups. Meddling with the unused "Destroy Segment" powerup can make it possible for 0 powerups to spawn
We're all very excited for this mod, not only for its story and difficult mods, but for the revolutionary content it brings to the community!
