I've made quite some level designs a while ago and finally there's a place to share them
Unlike TopAgentPGGJr who drew his projects on paper, I've designed mine on computer. Most of them are modifications of arleady existing levels but there are completely new designs as well. First, I'd like to say what would I change in some of the original levels. As I already said in another thread, I would change Midnight Weavings from 1-1 type level to 2-2 type level because it's identical to Weave It To Me. This is how I imagine it:
Next, some of the levels are quite repetitive. For example: Rainy Daze, Dem Bones and Wonderball Oasis are almost identical. This is how I would change them:
The spheres would go around the oasis and enter the lilypad track from the other side. The ending path being temporarily covered by incoming new spheres is an original addition to this level, as there are few ones where the danger zone is unaccessible because of spheres blocking it (like in Khufu's Revange or Inner Sanctum of the Temple).
This level is extremely boring so I decided to change the casual scroll to a somewhat more complex design.
This is also a boring level in terms of gameplay, so I changed the path a little and longered it by making the spheres travel on the sail before entering the boat. Here's also a different version of this level:
Eye Wove View is a simple up-to-down design while it could have been a lot more interesting. Here's my adaptation of this level:
I also decided to change paths in Sultan's Bounty. In fact, I thought of many possible ways to remake this level but eventually I decided to make only this small modification:
The developers really didn't impress with the level called Plaza of Stone. I redesigned the path a bit to make it more interesting. I would also place a vase or two on the spheres' way to cover part of the track.
Aten at them and Starry Night are identical so I changed the first one significantly. Starts in the middle and takes many twists and turns in the clouds and then enters the pyramid located in the right lower corner.
Luxor 3 best manages to combine good look along with interesting track design. Some of the paths are too short, though, due to the use of gates. Here's how I see some Luxor 3 levels either as 1-1 or 2-2 tracks:

Most levels in Luxor and Luxor Amun Rising focus on the track design. The background is usually made up for the track rather than vice versa. There are few changes I would like to make. First: Lair of the Jackal God. This level is very short and the ending ramp is just a horizontal straight line. To add some spice to it, I would curve that last horizontal to something like this:
Next, I would slightly change path in Uraeus Nefertari so the beginning line and the ending line aren't horizontal but they keep curving:
Little change also for Grand Gallery. I like this level but it could have been longer. The ending ramp should be curved like this:
I also think that it would be possible to redesign some double-pyramid levels to single-pyramid levels achieving a nice outcome. Here's an example:
Path design in Dance of the Crocodiles is very similar to Invasion of the Hyskos, so I thought it could be a 1-1 level as well.
This could also work the other way around. For instance, Ra's Journey to the West because it's almost identical to Hypostyle hall from Luxor 3:
(disregard the red lines)
I think Festival of Jubilee is quite boring, so I straightened the middle section and curved the ending section instead. Here's the result:
Eye of Horus, this level is well designed in terms of visual appearance but the path is merely an up-to-down track. This is how I would remake this level:
I enjoy most levels in Luxor 2 but some of them could be a bit more interesting. For instance, this is how Weaving Egyptian Linen should go in my opinion:
Step Pyramid of Djoser is also a bland design when talking about gameplay. I think this is a better remake of this level, plus a reflector on the right side (I know there are no reflectors in Luxor 2 but it would be very useful in this situation):
I don't like Game of Senet because the path is short and boring. I think it could be more interesting this way, with the reflector added as well:
Finally, this is my adaptation of Ptah Daa. I think the developers wanted to make an incredibly difficult level in place of Khufu's Revenge (both these levels are in the same places in the game, that is: stages 2-4, 5-4, 8-4 and 11-4) that has almost no access to the danger zone. I reverted the path, so that this level is still interesting, but easier to win (the pyramid is still in a hard to reach position but it's better than the original) :
That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed browsing this whole wall of text and images, and I expect many comments to the levels as well
(although these may be a bit too high expectations given the fact that there are only three more users on this forum
) Note how I made these projects quite a long time ago so some of them look somewhat sloppy. Soon I'll upload newer ones, where you'll find actual self-made designs, not just remakes of other levels, and I'll share my thoughts on TopAgentPGGjr's new designs. ~Signing off
EDIT: Some of these designs were deleted either because they had very low quality or they are being further redesigned. The new redesigns will be uploaded to
bobik19990118.deviantart.com/gallery/ and also in this thread.
