Is it a good idea to have PHARAOH OF THE TWO LANDS? The icon is the FIREBALL.
Posts required to reach this rank. 1000 posts.
Answer overall: YES.

Going by that logic should the entire rank system be overhauled? It's a bit unbalanced right now. For reference, if you check the member listing, you can that there are a lot of Commoners (and slightly lesser Scribes & Merchants) currently with the post ranking. But as of now there's only 1 Priest, Pharaoh, and Admin respectively, and no Treasurers/Viziers/etc. I feel that the ranking system is a bit unbalanced towards the lower ranks right now given the forum size and the rate people post. (for example, people who sign up and don't post or are inactive tend to never break 25 posts and inflate the Commoner Rank size) I feel that the rank system could be rebalanced as tiers maybe based on the number of posts if new ranks were added? (eg. top 5% Pharaoh, next 10% Vizier or something) because currently the only incentive to the rank system to get a higher rank exists until 500 posts (the highest rank so far) With a tier system it encourages active posting no matter what your post count is. That said, wouldn't it be weird to go from Pharaoh to Pharaoh of The Two Lands? The "Pharaoh" is repeated, unlike the title of every other rank. If anything, I say that "Pharaoh of The Two Lands" could be an achievement rank that justifies it. (eg. top poster) although that may lead to unnecessary spamming to inflate post count just to get a higher rank.

Add in Pharaoh of The Two Lands! It'll be the best rank ever, but it'll take a long time to get it.

In my opinion: bad idea I already thought about decrasing the post count required to reach Pharaoh rank from 500 posts to eg. 200 posts. 1000 post is way too much, though. Even on very active forums people hardly ever get this many posts. On the other hand, the rank system is actually a trivial thing, so I don't know if there's any sense altering it at this point of forum's existence. konisbored There will always be more Commoners than any other ranks. If you go to any forum and browse the user list, most of the time you will see a large group of "New Users" and very few "Gods" or "Senior Members". It's just normal thing to any forum.

I Got an idea: as an admin I have the power to in-/decrease users post count, even if it doesn't reflect their actual post count at all. So I could increase users' post count for their good actions (eg. making a mod, discovering new ways to do sth in the games or just posting informative and interesting posts). This would allow people reach higher ranks faster and it would actually encourage them to be active in the forum's community. Good idea?

Having 1000 posts would take forever for me. But Bobik, you are a genius! Your idea is very good. Also, give karma to those people who made good actions. This is a good idea! I am still a Scribe, but I'm already making a good mod! I have a good action right now: DSoZ Stage 1 preview has been released! It's TDZoZ restarted with new name, story and level redesigns, by the way!
EDIT: I will be a Priest soon! Yes! I like the red sphere!

I can't change people's karma nor have karma-based ranks. But, I thought of starting an event called "Weekly Point Giveaway" - every week one forum user will be granted a bonus of 10 points! "Posts" would be "Points" so that would make more sense. How about it?

Cool, indeed So, to compensate that the Point Giveaway has started just now, I will give an amount of extra points to forum users based on what they have done until now and then the Weeekly Point Giveaway will begin So, let's say Sunday! EDIT: Those will be also based on the karma points (to make it fair, I won't increase my own post count).
