We all had problems with this difficulut level. A seemingly simple, yet deceptive track layout makes this level one of the hardest in the game. If you are stuck on 11-4 where this level is present at its most difficult setting, with seven sphere colors and super increased speed at which the scarabs are travelling making it almost impossible to beat for less skilled players, then follow my instructions below on how to beat this challenging level.
This is how the level presents itself within the game. The main threat here is the architecture of the track in the lower part. Spheres coming from below completely obstruct the upper parts of the track. This is one of these levels in which the finishing ramp is not in the bottom of the level, rather it's in the middle of it, and also it is exceedingly short. It would've been even shorter if the developers didn't give it a tunnel seen in the lower left corner. This tunnel allows you to shoot over the spheres to reach the ones placed above, in this case, the ones just in front of the pyramid. In Luxor HD this tunnel is even a bit longer to help you beat this level. Although the tunnel is there to help, you should by all means avoid letting the spheres wander so far, that it actually becomes helpful. If you can't prevent the spheres from getting there, my tip is that you don't wait until the spheres come closer to the pyramid so you can hit them. This is because this level apparently features some sort of an algorithm which causes spheres of colors that you don't need to be given to you instead of spheres that you're desperately in need of. Whichever other level, when a train of spheres enters the danger zone, suddenly your shooter contains primarly spheres of colors that are closest to the pyramid. This does not apply in Khufu's Revenge and you have to deal with it but you can use it to your advantage. I guess that this was programmed due to the fact, that when you have spheres in danger zone and you can't hit them, then you shouldn't be given balls that match these in danger zone but rather these that can be used to remove spheres blocking the way to endangered spheres. And this is what you should do - try creating triple matches and combos to earn powerups and push the train backwards. Also, try attacking spheres in the very end of a sphere train to make the spheres go back a little to meet up with the scarab. If you manage to do a little hole in the line of spheres blocking endangered spheres, use that hole immediately to shoot spheres above. And again, powerups is the key - do triple matches to get as many of them as possible and use them at the endangered spheres. This level is also hard because for some reason, you can't destroy the whole sphere train with a lighting shot or a fireball (in most levels, when you unleash the powerup very close to where the spheres enter the level while a new sphere train is rolling out, you are able to destroy all spheres which haven't yet appeared on the screen, a fast user can destroy the whole train with a single shot, but in Khufu's Revenge this doesn't work unfortunately). Instead, use these at the danger zone. Overall, you can't beat this level unless you fail at it a few times. Practice your skills and you will eventually get through it. This level isn't a problem for me anymore because I can shoot quickly enough, so the spheres don't even reach the lower ramp, not even mentioning the danger zone. You should try to destroy the whole sphere train on the first two horizontal ramps. If you can do that, this level will be a breeze for you as it is for me. If you aren't fast enough, practice this level until perfect and take advantage of the hints I gave you. The feeling after clearing this challenging level and finally proceeding in the quest to beat Set is great, isn't it?
