Hey guys! In this thread I'll finally show you how to extract Luxor 5th Passage files!
Special thanks to
Bobik and 123 for this.
1. Install QuickBMS:
aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm2. Get this script and make the .txt file:
aluigi.altervista.org/papers/bms/pfpk.bms3. Launch QuickBMS and use the .txt with the .php script.
4. Choose assets.php from Luxor 5th Passage subfolder: assets.
5. Extract it.
6. And done! You finally learned how to extract Luxor 5th Passage files!
You can import Luxor 5th Passage paths to Luxor, Luxor AR, Luxor 2 and Luxor HD by using N.O.D.E by importing and saving.
Example: I done it with Entertainers for the Court.
Thanks for reading.
Very kind regards, Maxalien12
EDIT: Luxor 5th Passage in Luxor Amun Rising will be a mod now lol.
Well, I typed this thread to late so I'll just copy and paste everything.
Thanks to
123 and Maxalien12 for this method in shoutbox discussion.
123 mentioned the Xenonauts PFPK archive packer/unpacker, I mean it's a good software, but I had trouble with the batch file and cmd command line, it's abit tedious, and that was when Maxalien12 mentioned QuickBMS could work, and after a minute of research, yes, QuickBMS does indeed have a .pfpk file unpacker bms file!
So basically just use the normal QuickBMS extract method except with this file:
aluigi.altervista.org/bms/pfpk.bmsSo after unpacking Luxor 5th Passages' files, here are some goodies.
- Background files are the typical .jpg files, music are the typical .ogg files, completely moddable of course, it would seem.
- Path file type are path.obj files. Yes, the Luxor 2 type. It's completely moddable and transferable then.
- Level.txt file equivalent is .xml files, similiar to Zuma Deluxe, so yes, also moddable.
- Map.ui file equivalent are level.rxm and level.sxm, XML files, also moddable.
- Graphics are a bit disappointing, the method the use is a mask.png instead of the typical .tga files we are used to.
So yeah, Luxor 5th Passage is fairly moddable. Although, in my opinion, it's far easier to transfer the background.jpg and path.obj file to Amun Rising and work from there (edit: beaten lol), since we cracked all of that game's file formats.
And just for the lolz, here's the speed value of Stage 3-3 on easy mode.
<viseMaxSpeed value="40.17672221532"/>
<viseMidMaxSpeed value="8.035344443064"/>
<viseMidMinSpeed value="8.035344443064"/>
<viseMinSpeed value="0.894461538461538"/>
Yes, that is
Bastet's Fountain. What the hell.
