Snce the new year 2018 is almost here, I'd like to hear from our lovely community on what they like, what they dislike, what they're thankful for etc. I will gladly be accepting suggestions and some may be implemented to the forum. Main question: What do you think we should do to improve our community? Cannot wait to hear from you all!

I think that we should maybe try to make the community more active - and if possible - change forum hosts since Proboards is honestly not that good of a forum host service

As said, the marble poppers are a dying genre, and SM is reviving it. To further improve SM? Well... For the FUN part, maybe create a new game from scratch (CMLM but without the L lol), For the community part? I honestly don't know.

Main question: What do you think we should do to improve our community? Cannot wait to hear from you all! What I like in the community ? Well the diversity some people are from the Philippines other from Middle of Europe and more , that os cool to have people from other country in the same community (sadly i'm the only French here) the way how it revolve with the time , the mods too the creativity of them and the way how they improved . What I don't like ? Well the incident like the Maxalien12 . Idiots who comes here and act savagely with stole thing and other but we are all surrounding by idiots in the life no matter what , And the way some people are way too brutal with other members or new members , it can hurt . If I can suggest something it make the forum more active like before the discord or even before the FB chat , make events too like I do in my discord server with questions or map making . Well that all for me . Toodles !

So, this was the year I joined the lovely community of Spherematchers. At first look of the site, I thought it was just a forum dedicated to normal spherematchers gaming stuff but then I soon I found out about the creative side of sm. There were lots of ups and downs in this roller-coaster ride and it's fair share of controversies. But, I'm glad to say this is one of the best friendly community which accepts you and no political correctness bs. The things I like about the community is: - The community is there to help you no matter what.
- All opinions are accepted.
- Free popcorn with fights
(joke).
- We are like a family
- The amount of inside jokes
Well of course, every good thing has it's downs too : Some toxic members.
- Ratio of inactive : active is very poor.
- Usage of proboards.
The only suggestion I can give is the usage of a new fourm BUT don't delete this one. I would like to conclude by saying that this is the best community and I'm really happy to be a part of this family and thanks or having me here.

Alright, incoming old person opinion from old member. Been here since 2016 in the so-called bronze era where people were cracking xml, dat, and everything. Seen multiple big event threads, mods, etc.
Likes: - Genuinely surprised by the forum's success. I actually came across it in 2015 when there were like 2 members and thought nothing of it, but now we regularly churn out mods and are going relative strong for a forum I thought would be dead when I first saw it. - The concept of the forum itself. Did not expect there to be a niche marble popper forum to discuss these games. - Creativity. I've seen many unique unconventional path designs. - Skill Level. I respect some people's skills in Youtube videos. Like they're really good in Luxor and ZD. - There was a time where people helped out each other without fuss. It still happens now (albeit more sparingly) but I liked that.
Dislikes: - Discord server is definitely more active than actual forums. - Occasional periods of inactivity where we basically chill because nothing's happening (ie. no new mod) - People tend to take something for granted once it's done. Case in point: does anyone still remember how to code a stage_select.uis file? - Complacency tends to be a problem.
Improvements: - People need to learn to be nicer to one another. And act more mature too. It's pretty telling that I've seen the phrase "SM sucks" or "it's a lousy community" more than once. - Members need to voice out their own opinions. Seriously, don't just agree with a veteran/admin/mod because of their status/rank. If you truly believe in your points, don't yield and make your own counter-arguments. (they better be good tho) We don't need a hivemind controlled by the top. - New members should have some incentive for staying. The active community right now is actually almost all members that had joined in the golden era of LM2016/GSJ/N.O.D.E/CMLM aka late-2016. Barely any members that joined mid-2017 on are active. - Learning curve for Luxor modding needs improvement. TGA files are still a brick wall to some beginners. Mods probably get stuck in hiatus because they gave up. For ZD modding, well, better learn hex editing.
My two cents.
