Remember when we used to do "hardest levels in a game" threads? Ah, good times. So here's something different today.
A lot of people don't realize how much effort goes into designing, making and testing a map. So, let's honor our hardworking map creators! Let everyone and your favourite map creators know which of their level design are above the rest!
List down your 5 most favourite custom Luxor maps that you played in 2017. Eligible selections for the Hall of Fame: - Luxor mods released in 2017. - Database Map released in 2017.
My Personal Selection: 1) Vengeance of Sophie from Return of the Luxor Scepter. My definite personal favourite path that I've made. Who would have thought that Two Lands United would make a great inspiration? 2) Antanio Cross Passage from Dom's Investigation of the Missing Sheeps. Haven't actually played, but I saw it on video, and the symmetry of the ribbon shape just really caught my eye. Its danger zone is very well designed. 3) Latte or Cocca from Return of the Luxor Scepter. When I made it the path was unorthodox for my usual style. It was actually a CMLM2 map that at the last minute I decided to keep. 4) Jewel Mines from Dom's Investigation of the Missing Sheeps. I just really like the double-decker effect of this one. It's really fancy and adds to the "basement" factor. 5) Leaves Galore from Dom's Expedition for the Sacred Potato. This one is a tad biased but it made an impression on me in my 1st playthrough. ...Yeah, I didn't play a lot in 2017 so this list's prob a bit on the subjective side.
Do state your reasons as to why you enjoyed playing/making said maps. Feel free to rebuke any previous members selection of levels if they're not to your liking. Have fun discussing!

My personal Top 5 Maps of 20171) Mods Ban Hammer from Return of the Luxor Scepter. My favourite overall RotLS map. I love hwo the paths run so smoothly and the tunnel at the danger zone is absolute perfection. The bright theme also ups the mood when playing it~ 2) Cerulean Criss Cross from Sophie's Adventure 2 Demo. Ice themed maps are always a delight to see and play. But this one is my favourite of them because the design is beautifully done 3) Beach Trail from Dom's Expedition from the Sacred Potato. I love the design of this map and it's one of my favourites to play in DEftSP 4) Forces of Nature from Sophie's Adventure. Honestly, this map was a thrill to play. It fits my style of gameplay. Intense and can get really tricky 5) Zopoling Spiral Attack from Dom's Investigation of the Missing Sheeps. This map is my favourite from my mod DIotMS, purely because the tunnel systems and the layout just really makes me get into the level. It has that feel of satisfaction when you beat it :s This was really hard to decide, but I've come up with the list. I liked so many maps so this was tricky

I liked:
1) Think Ahead Of The Curve from Return Of The Luxor Scepter. I love space levels and this one was my favorite, despite 3-3 of TOR. The path was pretty fun to play, especially in an early area like 4-5. 2) Cosmic Tower from Sophie's Adventure. I still liek space levels, and this one, being a recreation of a Sky Kingdoms level was nice to me especially in 13-2 lol 3) Sophie's Moon Altar from Return Of The Luxor Scepter. A great final level, although I regret the path design, especially at the end. 4) Wood Block Lane from Dom's Expedition For The Sacred Potato. The chaotic path design that goes all over the place is exasperating, but enjoyable, minus the weak danger zone. 5) Caffeine's Terrace from Sophie's Adventure The coloring was bit off on this one, and it's a MM map, but the design was exciting, albeit susceptible to the quick kill trick.

My Personal Favourite:
1) Actually OK by Caffeine from database maps I like that because the path is looks so simple on me. 2) Infectious from Control the Infinite 2 Prasika Peregrination . I think the path looks like a plague's molecules-scroll design but i'm enjoying it. 3) Blastapopoulas Inferno from database maps . Basically BMC boss battle track , The old one's it's my fault copying BTD battles "Hot Tub" track , Also , I failed myself beating it even it's my custom map because of danger zone segments. 4) Pool Of The Hippo God from Sophie's Adventure . Again , The redesigned path to Wallow Of The Hippo God from Luxor 2 , I love playing that . 5) Bury The Evidence from Dom's Expedition for the Sacred Potato . Well now i know , I definitely enjoy it because Luxor 3 map "Buried In The Sand Of Time" was the inspiration to it.

While 2017 probably sucked for many people (the constant "risk" of having nuclear war, net neutrality suddenly getting screwed over, ...), it was great for me as I found out about this community! I met lots of awesome people *insert paragraph obsessing over skylar*, rediscovered an old passion and had truckloads of fun playing levels, chatting about random stuffs,
So here we go, my twist on my top 5 favorite maps of 2017...
1) Palm Of A New Era by Dom from the Luxor Map Database. This map made extremely difficult maps great again.
2) Roberto Rollercoaster from Dom's Investigation of the Missing Sheeps. You might be surprised by this one, as you can remember I ranted about it loads and loads, but once you put in the attempts, you start to appreciate every single last detail that went into this map and you start to adore it. Or I just suck, I dunno.
3) Deep Ocean Dance from Dom's Expedition for the Sacred Potato. Ah, the good old times, when Edit Wars was a thing, this glorious map was a product of it, sucks that it only lasted 1 private and 1 public tournament and nobody has the time and patience to start up another one... It's still fun (especially in SV)
4) Infectious from CTI2. Alright, I'm sort of cheating with this one, the actual mod came out in 2018, but the demo including this level came out in December 2017. Dom said that this level was entirely hand-made and I find that really hard to believe, because it's so pwetty...
5) Destroyer of Vegetables by Yarumaki. Everyone's new favorite map that totally won't kick your -mlem- over and over again until you luck out once! I love the path, both in a good and bad way.
And that concludes my incredibly biased list. Sorry that it's 80% Dom, I had no idea what to pick since so many maps were great
